Location: The village of Aislaby is located in the rolling countryside of the Esk Valley just three miles from Whitby. In the surrounding area you can visit the famous church of St Hedda with its painted ceiling, take a walk through the beautiful Arncliffe Woods, or explore the old mill on the banks of the River Esk. Aislaby is also ideal for exploring the spectacular North York Moors and the many small fishing villages and resort towns of this beautiful coastline including nearby Whitby, once the home of Captain James Cook, which is a town of winding streets and hidden alleys, with a picturesque harbour, safe sandy beaches and of course the Abbey, reached by the famous 199 steps.

The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline. A haven for walkers, the area also boasts great cycling, gliding, riding and fishing, whilst the North York Moors Railway is the perfect way to enjoy the beautiful scenery in a more relaxed setting. Visit the traditional market towns of Pickering or Thirsk, stop off at Castle Howard and Duncombe Park, two of Britain's most historic stately homes. Discover the quaint fishing villages of Robin Hood's Bay and Staithes, with their winding cobbled streets and brightly coloured fishing boats. Finally, there's the historic city of York, with its interactive Viking Centre, Roman walls, medieval streets, vibrant shops and gothic York Minster cathedral.
