Details for Fowl Green Farm Cottages

Fowl Green Farm is a traditional hill sheep farm of approximately 86 acres, located close to the village of Commondale. The slightly larger village of Castleton is just two miles away. In summer, take the moors bus - travel all day or get on and off in all the small villages stopping off at special sites of interest. It is also an excellent location for those who like a variety of country pursuits. These include walking, sight seeing, riding, cycling, off road wheelchair driving, bird watching, fishing, painting or sketching and much more.

The self catering holiday cottages are situated on a south facing slope in semi-circle around the farm yard, which is directly accessible by foot or vehicle from the road. Covered car parking is available at the top of the yard, and hence it is possible to leave the car within a few feet of the cottages. Parts of the yard has been resurfaced to make smooth footpaths which wind around to minimise the gradient making access easier for any visitors with walking impairments. In addition all the cottages have excellent level wheelchair access. There is a free laundry available for use by guests, together with a pay phone.

The Cottages:

The Barn - originally part barn, part milking parlour and part granary. It is now the largest cottage sleeps 6 in 2 double and 1 twin room, one downstairs and two upstairs. Under floor central heating, means no radiators downstairs and no cold spots plus plenty of hot water.
