Details: Laskill House stands proudly in beautiful Bilsdale, 6 miles north of Helmsley, in the stunning North Yorkshire Moors National Park. It is surrounded by hills and open countryside which fringe the unique open moors.

Traditionally built of Yorkshire stone in the seventies Laskill has its own private spring water supply that runs down from the hillside. Originally built as a private residence, it has just opened its doors as a contemporary Bed and Breakfast establishment whilst still retaining its rural charm.

Local Area: Laskill is a small hamlet situated 5 miles to the NW of Helmsley (45 minutes from York). Dating back to the Middle Ages, and originally under the control of Rievaulx Abbey it is generally recognised that central Laskill is composed of only three buildings :- Laskill House itself, Laskill Grange and the Quaker Meeting House.

Laskill was important as a medieval trading place and also as a settlement for Cistercian monks. Skilled metallurgists, they established a highly advanced blast furnace, the single mediaeval furnace so far identified in Britain, which produced a very refined iron ore. Sadly its progress was ended in 1538 by Henry VIII with the destruction of Rievaulx Abbey

Accommodation: All bedrooms are stylishly furnished to a high standard with the emphasis being on attention to detail. All offering en-suite facilities, huge beds, feather and duck down duvets and pillows (Non - allergenic or blankets available on request), crisp Egyptian cotton sheets, thick towels and fluffy bath robes.

Breakfast: Tuck into our hearty Yorkshire breakfast, ranging from fresh fruits, cereals and yoghurt to the full works, using our own eggs and locally produced sausage, bacon and black pudding.

Dinner: Traditional and wholesome - Dinner is a four course affair with the main course being probably a roast with all the usual accompaniments and a selection of Yorkshire cheeses to finish with. Vegetarian options are no problem.
Specific dietary requirements can be catered for but must be arranged in advance.

Wedding Venue: Laskill Country House is a licensed civil wedding venue.

Corporate: Our meeting room, which can seat up to 24, has stunning views of Bilsdale and enjoys lots of natural light throughout its full length with French windows opening onto the Garden Terrace.

As a private dining room it is also ideal for celebration of any nature - from family get togethers, shoot parties, work team building or wedding parties.
