This 17th century former farmhouse and coaching inn offers you a wonderfully historical setting for that special meal or overnight stay. Our traditional bar with its beams and Cask ales is a great place for a drink- Bring the children and your dog there too. We are proud to serve fabulous home cooked food with a modern twist in our beautiful, newly renovated restaurant. Our succulent steaks are locally sourced from a highly regarded local butcher!

The Downe Arms has 10 very individual en-suite bedrooms, some with sumptuous Georgian windows others with exposed beams, all of them offering you a charming, indulgent place to relax and enjoy. All of our rooms offer country elegance and the same level of comfort that you would expect from a traditional country inn. All rooms have flat screen televisions, refreshment tray and wonderful beds. Why not stay in one of our superior rooms, some with a romantic 4 posted bed!

Bring the one you love for a super Romantic Break- Two nights bed and breakfast, champagne and chocolates in the room on arrival, a candlelit dinner on the night of your choice, breakfast in bed if required and a late check out- £220 per couple in a standard room, £240 for a superior room and treat yourselves to a 4 poster room for £250 per couple.
