Details: Set in the heart of Kirkbymoorside on the fringe of the North York Moors National Park The George and Dragon Hotel is a combination of a 17th Century Coaching Inn with the adjacent Cornmill. This now provides a first class, family owned and run, 20 room hotel, restaurant and bistro, with character, charm and an 'olde English' pub atmosphere, offering true Yorkshire hospitality. On arrival you would be forgiven for thinking that the George and Dragon is just another quaint inn set on the square of a typical North Yorkshire Market town, but be prepared for a surprise!

Kirkbymoorside is located between Pickering and Helmsley and makes an ideal location from which to explore the surrounding area including the North York Moors, and Yorkshires east coast, including Scarborough, Whitby, Filey and Bridlington. There are numerous activities and attractions to suit every taste and pocket; including Castle Howard, the Ryedale Folk Museum, Dalby Forest and the famous North Yorkshire Steam Railway. The beautiful and historic City of York is also only a short drive away and well worth a visit.

Accommodation: En-suite sleeping accommodation is offered in two separate buildings to the rear of the premises. The first building, directly across the courtyard, has been converted from the old corn mill. The second, reached through the gardens, was originally the old rectory. Rooms include standard doubles, twin rooms & family rooms, and superior rooms. We also offer two particularly spacious suites, one with a grandiose oak four-poster bed the other a 5ft. wrought iron bedstead. All rooms are c/w a colour TV, hospitality tray, direct dial telephone, hairdryer and clock radio. We also have a private car park at the rear of the hotel.

Dining: All room rates include breakfast which is served in our restaurant area. A full English breakfast is available together with a continental selection. During the winter month’s guests can enjoy lunch and/or an evening meal in our restaurant or bistro, choosing from either the a-la-carte or table d'hote menus, or a Yorkshire classic from our specials board. During April - October food is available all day.
