The North York Moors and Coast is an area in which it is refreshingly easy to source quality produce, often sold directly from farms, farm shops or growers using traditional honesty boxes by the front gate. In the towns and villages visitors will find a whole array of retail food shops selling a whole manner of tantalising and mouth watering produce. A visit to the deli in Helmsley is well worth a day out, or a trip to Whitby to buy some kippers smoked on the premises using a tradition smoking room is a worthwhile experience.
