Motor Sports

Motor Sports are officially recognised as a recreational activity in the North York Moors National Park and as such, they are catered for wherever possible. Hill climbing events have been recorded as far back of the early 20th century. Motorbikes are completely legal on the parks road network but not on the public footpaths and bridleways. As well as a fine, if anyone breaks this rule they risk disturbing an archaeological site or wildlife habitat. The forests of the area have provided challenging rally circuits for drivers, there are 6 rally trials taking place every year and 9 motorbike trials.
