Whitby April Walks - Visit parts of Whitby that other visitors miss. Join the Storywalker dressed in character costume on a Heritage Town Tour, Ghost Walk or In Serach of Dracula. Group maximum 70 persons.

Malton & Norton Folk Festival, 20th -21st April 2012 - All Friday events will be held in Norton and all Saturday events, including the musicians session, will be held in Malton putting the venues within easy reach for both the public and performers, in particular, the musicians from the dance teams who support the festival every year.

Boots & Steam, 21st - 23rd April 2012 - After much success of last year's Boots and Steam Festival, the North Yorkshire Moors Railway has once again given its backing to Pickering's walking festival. The railway will be once again centre stage, helping to transport the budding walkers to their starting points, whilst also giving them a chance to view the stunning scenery of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. This year the railway will play a major part in the proceedings on the Saturday and Sunday by providing the transport for four different walks ranging from a gentler 3.5 miles to a more challenging 15 miles. Those walkers who may be more interested in local history can chose from a choice of walks around the Pickering area on the Friday. The Boots and Steam Festival is organised by the Pickering Walkers are Welcome group. It is run entirely by volunteers with the support of local organisations.

Scarborough Literature Festival, 12 to15 April 2012 - The perfect place to spend a 'Long Weekend'. Soak up the atmosphere, meet your favourite authors and catch festival fever!

Whitby Goth Weekend, 26th to 30 April 2012 - Alternative Goth and punk weekend. In and around Whitby and Whitby Pavilion Complex. Lots of bands, stalls and other events. Everyone welcome.
