The local pub is arguably the most important part of any village and is another place where the true spirit of North Yorkshire can be found. Locally brewed cask ales are popular and every pub is bound to have at least one. With over 100 locally brewed ales, you'll struggle to try them all, even during a very long stay. The local pubs serve as a hub for the community, somewhere to make the stress of the day melt away, somewhere to sit and relax and enjoy socialising. Most of the original pubs or inns would undoubtedly have offered accommodation as well as hospitality in years gone by, sadly for some this did decline over the years but the industry now seems to be enjoying regeneration with a new and exciting generation of bars and pubs.
