Hornsea is a small historic seaside town, situated in the East Riding of Yorkshire in a area of land known as Holderness. Well positioned for touring the Yorkshires Coast, the Yorkshire Wolds and the stunning North York Moors it is an ideal base for walkers and nature lovers. Hornsea Mere is a large natural glacial lake, formed in the ice age it is now also a bird sanctuary and a well visited fishing, water sport and sailing lake. Cycling and walking are very popular in the area as the Trans Pennine Trail comes to an end in Hornsea. In winter Horsea is a magnet for beach fisherman.
