The River Swale at Richmond


The beautiful historic town of Richmond in North Yorkshire exudes Georgian charm and with a variety of pubs, shops and sites of historical interest there is plenty to do whatever your taste.

Founded by the Normans in 1071 Richmond Castle stands as a stunning example of Norman architecture, overlooking the River Swale.  The castle is one of the oldest in England and well worth a visit.  Around the river there are some lovely walks complete with dramatic waterfalls and wonderful scenery.
