Dalby Forest to stage Rugged One 10k Race

The Forestry Commission is celebrating its centenary year with a very special 10K off road race through the wild terrain of Dalby Forest. The race will be known as "The Rugged One" and will be held on Sunday the 19th May.

The race is part of the Forestry 100 Running Series - Dalby Forest 10k. This particular race will be challenging, exciting and totally off the beaten track. Promising to keep the runners on their toes as they make their way through a diverse mixture of rugged, dramatic and often unexpected landscape this one is definitely not for the faint hearted.

Dalby Forest is renowned for its steep hilly terrain and sharp descents, wooded hidden trails and rocky tracks so participants can certainly expect an exhilarating experience. The sights, sounds and smells of the pine forest around this unique course will undoubtedly provide runners with a very special race to remember. Also famously rich in wildlife the forest supports a vast array of animals and small mammals as well as an abundance of birds and insects so hopefully numerous encounters with our forest friends will certainly be on the agenda and enhance the experience! The race is suitable for participants of all fitness levels and open to anyone over the age of 15 years.

The cost for a single entry is £20 and entrants must be aged 15 years or over. Registration is from 8.00am. The race starts at 9.00am from Adderstone Field. There is paid parking available.
