17th July 2013

Head for the hills this month for National Parks Week 2013!

The annual National Parks Week event is taking place at the end of July and preparation has begun in the stunning North York Moors. The event aims to bring forth awareness of the glorious countryside on our doorsteps and promote the wide range of activities on offer all year round in the great outdoors.

The 29th July to the 4th August are the dates to remember, as the school holidays begin and locals and visitors of all ages are actively seeking new and exciting pastimes to fill the long summer days. There will be something for everybody and many newcomers will find the perfect sport for them, which will no doubt be something which continues on throughout the years. From extreme white knuckle sports to gentle family activities there will be the opportunity to try something completely different within the boundaries of the North York Moors National Park and the aim is to get people out and active. Climbing, water sports, cycling and airborne pursuits are just a handful of the activities being offered, with tuition, help and advice widely available, ensuring that participants can feel relaxed, safe and confident to take part. To top it all, the countryside has some of the most breathtaking scenery in the country, to simply explore and enjoy at your leisure whatever the weather.
