If music be the food of love - get yourself up North!

North Yorkshire, the City of York, Harrogate, Scarborough and Whitby are just a handful of the places within the North York Moors that are offering some fabulous music and entertainment this coming month. February is one of the most romantic months of the year, and your loved one will be overwhelmed by the choice of musical events and festivals coming up within the region.

If it is classical music that floats your boat then a visit to Harrogate will definitely hit the spot - with the International Festivals Sunday Series of concerts which are running until April. These include such delights as pianists, quartets and chamber music.

Throughout February, Scarborough is the place to go to see a fine selection of musicians and singers, with gigs to suit all tastes at various venues throughout the town. A number of events are on the cards in York, including Coppergate Camp, where there is music and frivolity, coupled with some traditional Viking battles for your entertainment.

The Jorvik Viking Festival is ongoing from the 16th to the 24th February and is filled with fabulous events and exciting goings on for all comers. Battles, craft events and storytelling are all included to enthrall and fascinate the audience.

If you dig archaeology then Hidden York is the thing for you - here you can meet Mick Aston of the Time Team and bring along your own treasures to be identified or just come and wonder at the interesting finds that have been unearthed at digs and by locals throughout the area.

With a whole range of theatre, music and hands on fun the spring season is bound to be a great success in North Yorkshire.
