Trip back to 1943 on the North York Moors Railway!

The popular North York Moors Railway annual Return to Wartime Event will take place on Friday 12th, Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th October 2012 and promises to be a fun packed weekend for all. The event recreates wartime Britain with colourful and exciting displays and side shows.

As the clocks are turned back once again to recreate the camaraderie of the troops of 1943 in an even bigger and more exciting event this year, visitors will be treated to a full programme of entertainment and fun as well as reliving the drama of wartime. The town of Pickering will be buzzing, with battle re-enactments, street parades and music. Every station along the route will hold an event and the showground will accommodate more side shows, vintage trade stalls and dancing than ever before.

There will be an exciting display of vintage vehicles and numerous living history displays to enjoy. Many of our wartime heroes and veterans of the war are expected to attend and it is sure be a fantastic weekend.

There will be ample car parking spaces and camping facilities available.

The event will stretch along the entire line from Pickering through to Whitby and will include a convenient Park and Ride Service to ensure that nothing is missed!
