Situated on the north western side of the North York Moors National Park, the imposing Cleveland Hills offer spectacular views across Teesside and Cleveland.

These ancient hills support part of the Cleveland Way National Trail which is on the famous Coast to Coast Walk and have also been the site of many important archeological finds. 

The area is perfect for walking and cycling and offers many interesting places to see and lots of things to do for all ages and abilities.

A unique and beautiful place to visit is Roseberry Topping, a distinctive naturally formed cone shaped hill which stands out from the landscape and offers magnificent far reaching views from its jagged summit. Bronze and Iron Age relics are just some of the treasures which have been unearthed here and visitors can still see the remains of ancient settlements and stone circles.

There are numerous towns and villages within the area and a whole range of interesting sights and places to explore. The village of Great Ayton and Easby Moor have strong links with Captain Cook, and there is a monument marking the site of his family home on Bridge Street.
